The official countdown has commenced: Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk is due to be released in two weeks. Meanwhile, a new trailer for the war film called Never Surrender as a reference to Churchill’s speech has emerged.
The film created by the director behind such titles as The Dark Knight, Inception and Interstellar features a star-studded cast, including Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Kenneth Branagh and Mark Rylance. The film touches upon the events of June 1940 – the evacuation of the allied soldiers from the French beaches, which has nonetheless become one of the most iconic moments in the WWII history.
The new trailer under a dramatic name taken from Winston Churchill’s speech, Never Surrender, combines a sequence of monumental battle scenes.
The film has been made largely with IMAX 70mm cameras, guaranteeing a splendid cinematic experience. Where to see Dunkirk in this resolution? The BFI Southbank and the Science Museum will be showing film in Nolan’s aspect ratio of choice.
Dunkirk opens in the UK on the 21st of July.
