Performing under a stage name Lomelda, Hannah Reed mixes the thoughtful melodies with poetic lyrics that take on human interaction, presenting a whole lot of emotional baggage. The singer-songwriter has unveiled her new track – Interstate Vision – from a new album due to be released in September.
Peaceful, spiritual sound set against sharp, expressive lyrics are Lomelda’s trademark. As she gets ready for the release of her sophomore album, she shares a new song with the fans. Interstate Vision is an emotional ballad that takes on what falling in love means. Observant in words and enchanting in music, the Texan-based artist captures the feelings related to it with captivating charm stemming from melancholy and calmness alike (and we won’t act like we’re not falling for it!). You can listen to it below:
“Lomelda is about memory, intimacy, and the tragedies of distance. To Hannah, Lomelda has been about discovering friendship and connection,” we read in the short statement about Reed’s project. “When you see Lomelda, when you hear it, it is apparent that Hannah cares deeply about the connection made with the people on stage, the connection with you.”
The song, which is the lead single from her upcoming album Thx, has premiered on Stereogum. You might recognise her melodic pop: the artist has toured Europe with Pinegrove before and has released a track called With You earlier this year.
The songs on the album will include:
- Interstate Vision
- Bam Sha Klam
- From Here
- Out There
- Far Out
- Nervous Driver
- Mostly M.E.
- Only World
Her album, a follow up to 4E published in 2016, is now available for pre-order – it’ll be released on the 8th of September 2017. She’ll be also touring across the pond with Pinegrove and Florist.
